ATLANTIC IMMIGRATION PILOT PROGRAM (AIPP)

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program has been replaced by the new Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) (AIPP). The new program now accepts applications for permanent residence. For abroad skilled professionals and foreign graduates who want to work and live in one of Canada’s four Atlantic Provinces, the AIP provides a path to permanent residence:

  • New Brunswick
  • Nova Scotia
  • Prince Edward Island, and
  • Newfoundland and Labrador

The AIP (Atlantic Immigration Program) is an employer-driven program aimed at assisting firms in Atlantic Canada in finding qualified applicants for positions that they could not fill locally. Employers in Atlantic Canada can use the program to find eligible candidates for positions that aren’t being filled locally. Applicants can be from outside of Canada or temporary residents in the maple leaf country. There are numerous procedures that a candidate must do after receiving a job offer from Atlantic Canada. You can apply for PR status in Canada if you meet all of the conditions as an applicant.

 

Eligibility criteria for AIP:

  • educational prerequisites are met or exceeded
  • meet or exceed the language requirements
  • unless you are a foreign graduate of a recognized post-secondary institution in Atlantic Canada, you must have relevant job experience

 

Atlantic Immigration Program documentation:

  • Valid passport
  • Educational Credential Assessment (ECA)
  • Police Clearance Certificate
  • Medical certificate
  • Test results for language skills
  • Proof of funds
  • Employment letter
  • Certificate of Endorsement
  • Proof of payment

 

Some other additional documents:

  • Experienced proof (if needed)
  • Marriage certificate (if needed)

 

The Atlantic Immigration Program Application Process:

  • Step 1: The employer connects the candidate with a settlement services supplier. The supplier will now conduct a needs assessment to determine the candidate’s and family’s settlement plan.
  • Step 2: Both the employer and the candidate are notified of the selected settlement plan.
  • Step 3: The employer fills out the endorsement application and finds a program that matches the employee’s job experience. The province is informed of the job offer and settlement plan.
  • Step 4: The candidate completes and submits an IRCC permanent residency application. It is accompanied by the necessary documentation and an endorsement letter.
  • Step 5: The application is submitted, and if granted, the individual and their family can now relocate to Atlantic Canada.

 

Time to Process:

AIP applications take six months to be processed. Within six months of receiving the endorsement certificate, the applicant must file a PR application. Employers who need to fill a job opening right once might apply for a temporary work permit, which allows the skilled immigrant to come in and start working while their application is processed.

 

What is the minimum age requirement for AIP Canada?

AIP Canada has no specific age requirements. Candidates between the ages of 18 and 35, on the other hand, have a better chance of getting into Canada. Because they are thought to be ideal candidates for the essential skilled professions. Applicants under the age of 50 are also eligible to apply for permanent residency.
