The United States welcomes foreign students who wish to study in the country. All student visa candidates must be recognized and approved by their school or program before applying for a visa. Educational institutions will give each candidate with the relevant permission papers to provide when applying for a student visa once they have been accepted.

A Student Visa is an official document that allows students to travel to different countries and pursue their studies. It is a non-immigrant visa, and any prospective student who want to pursue higher education in another nation must apply for a student visa in that country. To study abroad, you’ll need a student visa. There are various types of student visas from which to pick depending on your circumstances. The student visa in the United States is a form of non-immigrant visa.

Qualification: First and foremost, the applicant must have a letter of admission or approval from their specific school before applying for a student visa. If an applicant passes the school’s eligibility requirements, the educational institution will supply the appropriate papers for the visa application. Before applying for a student visa, the candidate must first apply to a SEVP institution and be accepted. The Department of State Education USA website has a list of SEVP recognized institutions. The applicant must pay the SEVIS fee and will be given a form I-20 to submit to the consular officer at the time of the visa interview. The type of student visa required depends on the applicant’s chosen degree of study. The various study categories and visas that are available are listed below.
